Zakopane: Breathtaking Tatras & Thermal Spa Escape

The communication was great from the start. We only booked the trip the day before and it still went smoothly. We arranged to be picked up from our apartment and our guide Casper was punctual at 845am. The transport was a new minivan and very comfortable. Casper was an amazing guide, with a great sense of humour, pointing out interesting facts. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the day; 1) We stopped off for a quick comfort break so you could get a drink/snack use the loo etc. 2) we stopped at the “wooden house village” ; a cute little place where you could wander around and see a nice church and the unique houses there. 3) On to Zakapone, the highlight of the day. Included was the Funicular to the top of what is a ski resort. A very pretty place where you can get food drinks , photos etc at the top. At the bottom of Zakapone there is a nice little market and some restaurants. We had 2.5 hours here which was perfect. 4) We stopped at a place that made smoked cheese that you got to taste, which was delicious! And two cheeky vodka shots to get the party going. 5) Finally, we went to the thermal spa. Although it wasn’t what we expected it was fun. It was essentially a huge leisure centre with hundreds of people. There were family pools (think Haven holidays and the like, with slides etc). Luckily as we were four friends with no kids, we found the outdoor pools which had a bit of a party vibe and swim up bars with prosecco, vodka etc. TIP: take flip flops with you, it’s a long way from the changing rooms to the pools. Hire towels when you’re there to prevent you having to take wet towels on the way back. All in all, it was a fun, memorable trip that I’d recommend.

I found this misleading as it says cable car to the mountains and that wasn't the case at all. The tour operator was a great guy and so was the driver. When talking to the tour operator he even said the title was a bit misleading. I overall had a nice time and the group of people I met was really nice people. But the tour itself wasnt what I expected. It was a funicular that took us up an hill, not a cable car and once we was on top of hill we looked at the mountains but didn't go to them as thats what I thought. Bit disappointed.
